in a room of silver
dappled drab
the wind was just a whisper
snarled and rattled

fear and favor song and speed
gathering on the swift and sweet
making marble words and rubbing on the rubber heat

chains that clank
like a disappearing snake
falling stars and eagles
in a bottomless break

ruined flowers
and feathers fold
deep dark sparks
mixed stars with gold

singing eye and dormant tree
diamond strung and spilling fire on me
and on the marble words and rubbing on the rubber heat
